God, who is patient with us, asks us to be patient with him. God invites us to learn to wait on him and to rejoice in the depths of his unfailing love and his unfailing promises. Of course, that’s easier said than done. As one famous song says, “The waiting is the hardest part.” It may, however, be in the hardness of waiting—of striving and learning to be patient—that God does some of his best work in us.
